Myspace.com is on fire and you can start your myspace style site for less than $100
Myspace.com is on fire!
The funny thing is that it is only a small part of a much
larger online movement.
Myspace.com is a part of the huge growing trend of Social
Networking.
Social Networking is possible due to the web’s instant
communication, feedback and gratification capabilities.
People want thing to happen ‘right now’ and they love to
feel that they are a part of something ‘bigger’; religion,
communities, sports fanatics, ipod users, etc.
They have a say in not only creating new fresh content for
the site, they have the ability to instantly discuss their
opinions on the very same content that they help create.
Social networking sites also allow individuals to become
something that they are not in real life.
They allow them to invent a persona that they can’t, or
won’t, be in real life:
The forty-something mother of 5 young children whose whole
life has revolved around the home; suddenly online she
becomes ‘Natasha, world traveler, vixen, twenty-something
year old heartbreaker of men’.
Social networking sites allow these people to escape and
become the person they have always wanted to be, or wished
they had become rather than the ‘dull, failure of a person
they are today’.
We’ve all seen the movies where the picture of the person
from the online dating site is nowhere near what the person
looks like in real life
It also allows people to talk about ‘me’.
Great conversationalists know that letting the other
person talk about ‘me’ is a sure way to gain their trust
and their friendship.
It also happens to be a great way to make sure that the
other person keeps coming back for more; very important for
free web traffic!
People love to talk about themselves and Social Networking
sites can make that happen.
Don’t get me wrong, Social Networking is much bigger than
just ‘me’ sites and blogs, but both are at the top of the
list of the most popular Social Networking sites.
Social Networking sites are the types of community sites
that are currently being bought out for seven and eight
figure deals by existing online companies such as AOL, MSN,
Google, and Yahoo.
I am convinced that they will also become
the targets of venture capital firms looking to acquire
online properties to eventually bring to the market via an
IPO (initial public offering of stock).
Starting your own community sites can be done for less
than $100 using completely free software like joomla, and
can be up and running in an afternoon.
Below is a very detailed special report I found that
outlines the most popular community sites today.
It also gives great insight as to why social networking
and community sites crush other types of sites when it come
to growth, free traffic, and potential earnings both today
and tomorrow.

and community site special report

Hi Jeff
What are your views on the best CMS program to use for a new social bookmarking site? I was tossing between Joomla and Mambo, but not knowing either intimately except they are closely related, thought you might have an idea on to which is more effective (your recent Mambo tutorials are timely, and most welcome.. What I’ve come to appreciate from your video tutorials is that you cut straight to what makes a noticeable difference in SEO.. thus, respecting the limited time most work at home parents have to spare)
And very quickly on another SEO subject, I have another small question on Web Hosting for a series of Adsense income sites. As Google in particular applies no weight to inbound links from sites bearing the same IP address, do you recommend a separate IP for each of those sites, or does it really matter if I was to use Wordpress as the program for all the planned Adsense based income generation sites?
Your coaching club is certainly very appealing… it’s refreshing to see a high ticket item that gives an immediate return to the subscriber, rather than the unscrupulous few who hit naive new marketers pockets shamelessly (With a milestone birthday around the corner, I’ll have to whisper in my partner’s ear that I am jumping at the bit to join your club
Many thanks and …..Best
Roseanne
Jeff Johnson says: Joomla is the preferred open source software of choice for building community sites but i’m not sure if that is what you had in mind when you said “social bookmarking site”.
As for the adsense sites; incoming links from the same IP aren’t necessary useless, but they just aren’t as effective as those coming from different IPs, more specifically, different class IP addresses on different servers, in different hosting data centers, etc.
I use wordpress and static sites for adsense sites. The choice really comes down to the market you are targeting, and your ability to build and maintain the sites given your level of expertise, programming, and human capital.
